About Therapy With Laura Howell
Your Growth Has Not Gone Anywhere
Feeling stuck does not mean you’ve stopped growing.
Sometimes you arrive in therapy because something very specific happened.
Other times, life simply stopped working the way it used to.
What Has Been Taking Up Room in Your Life
Anxiety keeps expanding. Depression drains your energy.
Grief lingers. Your relationships feel harder.
Chronic stress has become your baseline.
Or an experience from the past keeps showing up in ways you wish it wouldn’t.

Go Wider Than Thoughts and Behaviors
Therapy with Laura takes a whole-person view.
You can talk about thoughts and behaviors, but you can also pay attention to what is happening in your body, how you relate to yourself, what gives your life meaning, and what helps you feel grounded.
Come at It From a Different Direction
Sessions may include practical tools from CBT or ACT, deeper exploratory work, Internal Family Systems, mindfulness, meditation, breathwork, or somatic practices.
For appropriate clients, Laura also brings training in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.
The point is not to make therapy complicated.
It is to have enough ways into the problem that you are not forced to keep approaching it from the same direction when that direction has stopped working.

You Get Back What Has Been Crowded Out
Over time, therapy can help you feel less overwhelmed by your inner experience and more able to access the strengths, choices, and parts of yourself that stress or trauma have crowded out.
About Laura Howell, LMHC
Hi, I’m Laura. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with more than 20 years of experience working with adults and teens around anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationships, chronic stress, and life transitions.
My professional background includes community mental health, school systems, inpatient programs, and private practice. I hold a master’s degree in psychology and have additional training as a meditation teacher and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy facilitator.
Outside therapy, I recharge through nature, beekeeping, snorkeling, live music, family, and furry companions, which may be one of the more eclectic lists on our staff page.
Find Your Way In
Write to Laura about what has been going on.
The two of you can work out the way in from there.

Tell Us Where You’d Like This to Move
You don’t need the whole thing figured out before you write to us.
Some people know exactly which kind of therapy they want. Others know only that something isn’t working anymore, and that’s enough to start with.
Tell us what’s been going on, what you’ve already tried, and what you’d like to feel different. We’ll think it through with you and point you toward the therapist and the approach that fit.
You’ve done plenty of understanding already, and now it’s worth finding out what gets it moving.
