About Therapy With Craig Golden

When Your Life Organizes Around Avoiding What Might Set You Off

When your emotions go from zero to sixty, the real work starts before sixty.

Anxiety, panic, anger, OCD, trauma, or intense emotions can make life feel organized around avoiding what might set you off.

Maybe you avoid situations because you’re afraid of panicking. Maybe anger takes over before you have time to think.

Intrusive thoughts or compulsions consume far more energy than anyone around you realizes.

Why Everyday Life Takes More Effort Than Anyone Sees

For teens and young adults, those experiences can overlap with school stress, family conflict, identity, neurodivergence, or the feeling that nobody quite understands how much effort everyday life requires.

Therapy with Craig is collaborative and person-centered. You are not treated as a diagnosis that needs to be corrected.

See Your Pattern Before It Takes Over

Together, you and Craig can start identifying patterns earlier: what happens in your body, what thoughts show up, what triggers escalation, what you do next, and which parts of that cycle can actually be changed.

The work can include CBT and DBT strategies, trauma-informed approaches, expressive arts, and other practical tools tailored to the person.

Your Emotions Stop Making Every Decision for You

Anger, fear, and anxiety have reasons for showing up, which makes emotional numbness the wrong thing to aim for.

The goal is gaining enough understanding and skill that those emotions stop making every decision for you.

About Craig Golden, LMHC

Hi, I’m Craig. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a master’s degree in education and counseling from Lesley University.

I work with trauma, depression, anxiety, panic, OCD, phobias, family dynamics, substance use, school-related difficulties, and self-esteem. I have extensive experience with children, families, neurodivergent clients, adolescents, young adults, parents, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.

My approach is humanistic and person-centered. I also draw from CBT, DBT, trauma-informed therapy, play, and expressive arts.

I care a lot about helping people feel validated without leaving them there. Understanding yourself should eventually give you more options for what comes next.

Start Before Sixty

If your life has organized itself around avoiding escalation, that is the thing worth bringing in.

A message through this site is enough to start. I will take it from there.

Tell Us Where You’d Like This to Move

You don’t need the whole thing figured out before you write to us.

Some people know exactly which kind of therapy they want. Others know only that something isn’t working anymore, and that’s enough to start with.

Tell us what’s been going on, what you’ve already tried, and what you’d like to feel different. We’ll think it through with you and point you toward the therapist and the approach that fit.

You’ve done plenty of understanding already, and now it’s worth finding out what gets it moving.
